Dear Member Organizations of the Strengthen Social Security Campaign: Below is our latest suggestion of an email message you can send to your members to urge President Obama to make a strong statement against benefit cuts during his State of the Union address on January 25. We want to thank one of our coalition partners, Campaign for America's Future, for preparing this video clip of the President's past statements.

Also attached is a fact sheet about the President's past statements on Social Security that your members may also find helpful. This can also be found on thecampaign's website.

Please let Melissa Byrne, our Online Campaign Coordinator, know about your online action plans so that she can keep a record of the number of communications being made to the White House. 		Dear Supporter, We agree with President Obama that Social Security should not be cut. Here is the President in his own words strongly defending Social Security and opposing benefit cuts, raising the retirement age and reducing the COLA. Watch the President defend Social Security. Let the President know that you agree with him. Urge him to use his State of the Union speech on January 25 to draw a line in the sand – Washington politicians HANDS OFF Social Security! See for yourself and let your friends see too. And then let the President know how important Social Security is to all of us – because at some point in our lives we all depend on its promise.
