QUESTION:

hi,
Do you know why there are such a loss of retirement claims? There is significantly less retirement claims being taken not only in my office but offices through out the district. I have asked management why there are fewer retirement claims but they do not know why.
Any clues from you? Thank you for your time and consideration.

ANSWER:

The reason is because many claims are being done by internet.  The
Convenience for those who have access to the internet, has resulted in a
steady decline of RIB claims in many offices.

ANSWER:

Not exactly sure why retirement claims are down. Possible reasons: more
claimants filing on line, Immediate claims taking units, claimants
delaying retirement due to a good economy and available jobs??

Are employees coming up with other reasons they may suspect a decline in
RSI?

ANSWER:

thank you for the reply. The answer is not internet claims. internet claims require that proofs are still submitted. More likely that ICT is taking the claims. All thats left for field offices are walkins and DIBs. This appears to follow the 1990's privitization scare that private companies would take RIB claims (take the cream of the claims) and leave DIB's for the Federal employees.
